Our Work

Carney Hospital

This project at Carney Hospital in Dorchester replaces the existing electric condensate receiver with a steam pressurized receiver pump. The new system utilizes high pressure steam to push the condensate back to the central utility plant. The existing electric condensate system has failed repeatedly due to seal leaks and electric pump failures. To provide a reliable solution, MTECH NE LLC proposed the steam pressurized pump unit that utilizes no mechanical components besides a basic float. This project was 100% funded by National Grid, and when completed will eliminate years of headaches for the hospital, improve system efficiency and reduce electric consumption.
